Brass, Acrylic Urethane lacquer
For this body of work I used line drawings and the symmetry of the body to create a series of neckpieces. The wire constructions play with asymmetry to achieve a different view on the wearers body. The series “symmetrical necklace” plays with asymmetry to emphasize different aspects of the wearer’s body. As such, it explores the interaction between jewelry and the body - how we see an object on the body, how jewelry can change itself and the wearer’s body just by changing the view, and how this can affect the balance of the wearer’s body.
This work was shown in November 2012 at the RISD Jewelry Triennial, Woods Gerry Gallery, Providence, Rhode Island, U.S.A.
